Title 3 Tips for Naming Your Wedding Planning Business
Category Starting a Wedding Planning Business
Article Here are 3 tips for selecting a name for your new wedding planning business:

Tip #1 - Select one that is easy to say

You want to be able to say your name easily and you want people to be able to repeat your name easily so they can give you referrals. Also, the easier it is to say, the more likely someone will remember it.

Tip #2 - Select one that is easy to understand

Use real words with common spellings when you select a name. Some people make up words to use as their company name or spell their own name backwards. It works for Oprah but may not work for you. The bottom line is: Can your potential clients easily understand your company name?

Tip #3 - Make sure it is available as a .com URL

You want to select a name that you can get as a .com, for example www.yourbusinessname.com. You don’t want a net, .biz, .org, or anything else because people just assume you have a .com. You don’t want them finding someone else when they are searching online for you. Also, don’t put hyphens in your name to get a .com because people seldom remember to type them when they go online.

If the name you want is taken, add a word to the beginning or ending of the name. For example, if you want www.weddingsbyyourname.com and it isn’t available, you could try www.perfectweddingsbyyourname.com

And Don't Forget. . .

to check with your local county offices to make sure the business name you want is available in your area. Also, check with the government trademark agency in your country to make sure you aren’t selecting a name that infringes on any registered service or trademarks. You might want to trademark your business name so no one else can use it. Check trademark agencies for information or ask your attorney for assistance.
